Today's the day! It's the final day of my exhibition "Old and New Traces" with fellow artist @rosalindbieber Ros Bieber at @thebellgallery The Bell Gallery in Bungay so, if you haven't mm managed to get down there yet, this if your last chance!

The good news is that the forecast is "fine and frosty" and there are a lot of very nice shops on the high street, so why not make a morning/afternoon of it and finish off a bit of Christmas shopping with a wander round the gallery (I'm there all day, so I'll watch your bags).

Follow that with a coffee and cake in the excellent @frontroombungay Front Room cafe and bakery three doors down - or The Castle Inn opposite, if you fancy something a little stronger 🙂 - what could be better?

Meanwhile, appropriately enough, this is titled "The Unexpected Could Emerge" (oil on canvas).

I spent a pleasant day in Bungay yesterday, invigilating my new show "Old and New Traces" at @thebellgallery The Bell Gallery.

The sun shone (for most of the day, anyway 🌞), the rain held off and a steady flow of visitors came and went, leading to some good conversations and some very nice comments in the Visitors Book - plus some card and print sales, which are always welcome!

(One of) the things I like most is this sight which greets every visitor as they walk through the door - but then I would, wouldn't I? 🙂

Today's the day for digging out the padded painting bags and masking tape, and loading the car in advance of tomorrow's get-in for my new exhibition "Old and New Traces" at @thebellgallery The Bell Gallery - always an interesting process, not unlike that game where you have to fit a lot of differently-shaped interlocking pieces together to make a square!

I'm sharing the space with fellow artist @rosalindbieber2 Ros Bieber and the good news is that the labels are done, the flyers have been printed and I *think* the paint is dry on the canvases - just be careful not to touch anything during the show 🙂

In a change of direction from landscapes, this is "Jeepers Creepers" (oil on canvas). (f you don't know the Louis Armstrong song, it goes "Jeepers creepers, where'd you get those peepers?")

Everyone's welcome at the Private View: 5 - 8pm, Wednesday 1 November. But don't worry if you can't make it then: the show runs for a month Tuesday 31 October - Sat 25 November, so there's still plenty of time to come and see it!

The Bell Gallery is at 40 Earsham St, Bungay NR35 1AQ, and is open 10am - 4.30pm, Tuesday - Saturday. Nearest parking is round the corner at 17 Scales St Parking.

Just 5 days till the launch of my new exhibition "Old and New Traces" at @thebellgallery The Bell Gallery in Bungay, and preparations are moving up (several) notches!

"Old and New Traces" runs Tuesday 31 October - Sat 25 November, and all are welcome at the Private View: 5 - 8pm, Wednesday 1 November!
