Exhibition Update 2023

It’s shaping up to be a very busy year!

First on the list is:

Suffolk Open Studios 2023
Saturday 10 – Sunday 11 June, 10am – 4pm

Studio awaiting (several) finishing touches

It’s unfortunate that, due to other commitments, I’ll only be able to open for one weekend this year but, on the plus side, if everyone comes on those days then I can promise you a very buzzy weekend!

And later in June, I’m taking part with Easterly Artists in their latest exhibition at the First Light Festival in Lowestoft, with a selection of prints and cards for sale as well as some larger work. The festival runs Midday – 9.30pm, Saturday 17 and 10am – 4pm, Sunday 18 June.

Third, I’m very pleased to have been offered a solo show in July at the excellent George Farnham Gallery in Saxmundham.

Hilary Barry Solo Exhibition
George Farnham Gallery, Saxmundham
4 – 15 July
Open: Tue – Fri, 10.30am – 4pm; Sat, 10am – 1pm (Closed Sun – Mon)
George Farnham, 6A High Street, Saxmundham, Suffolk, IP17 1DD

This is one of the pieces I’ll be showing:

Abstract Welsh mountain landscape.
The Breath Taken (25 x 25 cm)

As an added incentive, Saturday 8 July is market day in Saxmundham so, if you come then, once you’ve had a chance to look round the show there will be plenty of other things to see and do in the high street.

On to September and I’m hosting a joint exhibition at The Craft House in Woodbridge, together with the very talented fellow Suffolk artist, Ros Bieber:

Hilary Barry & Ros Bieber
The Craft House, Woodbridge
27 September – 3 October
Open daily, 10am – 5pm
The Craft House, 1B Thoroughfare, Woodbridge IP12 1AA

Here’s one of the paintings I’ll be showing, with an example of Ros’ work below, to give you a taste of what to expect:

Aerial landscape.
Some Could Not Be Concealed (50 x 50 cm)
Artist Ros Bieber's painting "Tug Boats" (organic paint, sand and collage).

The Craft House is 5 minutes’ walk from Woodbridge Station, which is also probably the best place to leave your car if you’re driving.

Finally, Ros and I are hosting another joint show in November at The Bell Gallery in Bungay, which is rapidly making a name for itself as the place to be if you want to see compelling work by new artists from a whole range of locations and mediums.

Hilary Barry & Ros Bieber
Bell Gallery, Bungay
31 October – 25 November
Open: Tue – Sat, 10am – 4.30pm (Closed Sun – Mon)
Bell Gallery, 40 Earsham St, Bungay NR35 1AQ

Picture seen through a window of a crowd of people in a room, all ages and genders.
Now It’s Not Too Clear (65 x 65 cm)

You can get to Bungay by train via Beccles, followed by a short bus ride. Alternatively, if you’re coming by car, there’s plenty of car parking in the street or the public car park down the road.

And, as always, please follow me on my Instagram, Facebook or Twitter pages for all the latest images and updates.

Hope to see you in due course at one or more of the above!
